The text editor supports the following common editing keystrokes:

Backspace | Delete the character before the insertion point

Delete | Delete the character after the insertion point

Ctrl+Backspace | Delete one word before the insertion point
|
Ctrl+Delete | Delete one word after the insertion point
|
To delete characters or words:
- Place the insertion point before the word or letter you want to delete.
- Press Delete as many times as needed.

- Place the insertion point after the letter or
word you want to delete.
- Press Backspace as many times as needed.
To delete text that spans more than a few characters:
- Select the text you want to delete.
- Press Delete or Backspace to delete it.
To delete a text block:
- Hold down the Alt key and use block selection to mark the text you want to delete.
- Press Delete or Backspace to delete it.
To delete characters on multiple lines:
- Hold down the Alt key and use block selection to mark the lines.
- Press Delete or Backspace as many times as needed to delete the characters.
